- I really began living at the age of 50. I realized I was an OK person and had something to give back to this world. I went back to school and received my Bachelors Degree in Public Administration at the ripe old age of 57. After 20 years working in HR doing payroll and learning the ins and outs of government, I was finally promoted and am training the rest of the County all the wonderful things I learned in the past 20 years. I can actually say for the first time, I LOVE MY JOB!!!!! Not only am I a late bloomer in the scholastic department, I am a late bloomer all around. I have gained 60 pounds in the last 20 years. Oh well......
